Life Teen Youth Ministry Platform

Life Teen partnered with Kentech-U to build a modern digital platform that streamlines communication, reduces costs, saves time, and significantly cuts paper usage—allowing them to better serve youth ministries worldwide.

Our Client

Life Teen is a Catholic youth ministry organization providing programs and resources to parishes across the globe. As a Eucharist-centered movement within the Roman Catholic Church, Life Teen helps teenagers and their families grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church.

In addition to ministry programming, Life Teen serves as an educational organization, equipping Youth Ministers with the training and resources needed to become certified and lead their local parish communities.

The Goal

Life Teen relied heavily on paper-based processes to distribute curriculum, books, and digital resources, while communication with subscribers depended on email, phone calls, and traditional mail.

The goal was to transition these workflows to a centralized digital platform that would reduce costs, save time, and eliminate unnecessary paper usage. By creating a single system for content delivery and communication, Life Teen aimed to foster more meaningful, efficient interactions between administrators and youth pastors.

Kentech-U was engaged to design and build a scalable, digital-first solution to support this transformation.

Our Plan & Process

Kentech-U began by conducting user interviews to identify target users and early adopters. Four primary personas emerged: Youth Ministers, Core Members, Parents, and Teens.

Based on user insights and feature priorities, the platform was divided into two core components:

Web Portal: A centralized admin dashboard that allows Life Teen staff to plan and schedule curriculum, manage content, distribute resources, send notifications, and communicate with specific planning teams.

Mobile Application: A user-facing app designed for students and parents to easily access content relevant to their programs and participation.

The platform ecosystem was built using modern web technologies and a React Native mobile application to ensure scalability, performance, and ease of use across devices.

The Results

Following the platform’s launch in early 2019, Kentech-U continued to support the product with ongoing maintenance and feature enhancements, contributing to its long-term success.

That same year, Life Teen exceeded its annual parish subscription goal by 30%, demonstrating the impact of a streamlined, digital-first approach to ministry engagement and communication.
